Photographing a Storm – I was Terrified by Thomas Heaton

We all do it but photographing in a storm with a large carbon fibre tripod/lightening conductor in hand is maybe not the best of ideas, as demonstrated by Thomas Heaton.

The weather reports were warning us of violent storms passing through the region, so this gave me the perfect opportunity to head out to try and photograph the unfolding drama. It is quite rare for me to get the chance to photograph storms, so I was quite excited and possibly a little naive as I put myself at considerable risk without realising the true dangers. – Thomas Heaton
